Mesajul primit de la Caroline Chan, coordonatorul Chapterelor IEEE EMC, prin care se prezinta o oferta de carti electronice care se pot obtine gratuit de la IEEE:

Dear Chapter Chairs and Angels,

I would like to share with you two books offered by IEEE USA/PACE (the free download for one book will expire in couple days April 15th, the other one May 15th).  I am not endorsing or have I actually read it but since this is stated as a member benefit, i wanted to pass it to you, as Chapter Chairs, so you can forward it to your members as soon as possible since one of the book free download is expiring soon, use promo code MARFREE17 at checkout):
PACE (Professional Activities Committees for Engineers) is a grassroots network of IEEE volunteers and committees organized at the section and chapter level in the United States  The goal of the PACE Network is to promote the professional interests, which do not stop at the USA boundaries.  Instead many of our soft skills fall into PACE (under IEEE USA, FYI Kimball Williams k.williams@ieee.org can provide you additional info if you are interested).

As a special benefit to IEEE members for the month of March, IEEE-USA E-Books will offer "Women in Engineering -- Book 1: Inspire and Close the Gender Gap." IEEE-USA’s award-winning Women in Engineering e-book series has two purposes: to present a high-level overview about women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) fields, and to provide first-hand accounts of the professional journeys of some notable contemporary female engineers. In Book 1, Inspire and Close the Gender Gap, author Nita Patel examines the questions: How many women pursue STEM career fields? Why are more women not graduating with STEM degrees? How can we recruit and retain women in engineering? This e-book is available 1 March to 15 April.

Get your free e-book (log in to your IEEE Account, add book to your cart, and , use promo code MARFREE17 at checkout)

In April, IEEE-USA E-Books will offer “Developing Your People -- Commonsense Leadership in the Workplace -- Volume 1: Key Skills Employees Will Need.” Your people are your most important and versatile resource. They can be upgraded, renewed, rejuvenated, and adapted to a wide variety of jobs. They are the most ideal resource any company can possess. Equipped with the right support, tools, information and leadership, they will make the difference in the global race for market share. Mistreat them, fail to use them effectively, demotivate them, refuse to lead them, and ignore the value of their skills -- and you risk certain failure. This e-book will be available 1 April to 15 May.

Joint action of the IEEE EMB & EMC Romanian Chapters, at the 10th edition of the International Symposium on Advanced Topics in Electrical Engineering, IEEE-ATEE
(Bucharest, March 23-25, 2017 http://www.atee.pub.ro)

ATEE is organized by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University POLITEHNICA of Bucharest, since 1996.
Thirty-two papers with EMB (23) and EMC (9) topics were presented during the dedicated oral and poster sessions of the conference. A special EMB&EMC session, held in the afternoon of March 23rd, brought together members of the EMB, EMC, and other Romanian Chapters technical co-sponsors of the ATEE.
Prof. Octavian Postolache, from Instituto Universitario de Lisboa, Portugal, honoured the ATEE event as invited IEEE distinguished lecturer. His lecture, titled Tailored Environments for Physiotherapy Assessment in the Internet of Things Era, was presented in plenary session, as one of the distiguished five plenary lectures, targeting advanced topics in electrical engineering.
Following an already established tradition for joint actions, the EMB & EMC Chapters meeting took place in the afternoon of March 23. Prof. Alexandru Mihail Morega (chair of the EMB Romanian Chapter) and Prof. Andrei Marinescu (former Chair and currently vice-Chair of the EMC Romanian Chapter) presented brief reports and the action programs of the two Chapters. Prof. Mircea Eremia (President of the IEEE Romania Section) delivered a short speech on the current, retrospective, relevance, future goals and activities of the two Chapters.
Anno 2017 is special: 10 years and 15 years, respectively, since the foundation of the EMB and EMC National Chapters. "VALIDATION OF COMPUTATIONAL ELECTROMAGNETICS"

19 noiembrie 2009, Bucuresti, Universitatea “Politehnica”

conferinte prezentate de
Dr. Alistair DUFFY
IEEE EMC Society
Distinguished Lecturer

Dr. Alistair Duffy preda "Electromagnetism" la De Monfort University, Leicester, Anglia. Teza sa de doctorat, "Coupling of electromagnetic waves into wires – experiments and simulations", sustinuta la Nottingham University a fost elaborata sub conducerea profesorilor Christopoulos si Benson. Dr. Alistair Duffy a publicat cca.

Scurta prezentare a conferintelor

Reverberation Chambers.

Validation of computational electromagnetics.

Romania
On November 19, 2009, the IEEE EMC Romania Chapter, in cooperation with the “POLITEHNICA” University of Bucharest, Romanian EMC Association (ACER) and the Romanian Academy for Technical Sciences, organized a special event in coordination with a visit by EMC Society Distinguished Lecturer (DL) Dr. Alistair Duffy. The half day meeting took place at the “POLITEHNICA” University of Bucharest with 32 attendees from universities, research institutes, test laboratories, regulatory-standardization bodies and industry. Dr. Duffy, Reader in Electromagnetics and Head of the Engineering Division at De Montfort University, Leicester, UK, gave the lectures “Reverberation Chambers” and “Validation of Computational Electromagnetics”. His first talk was a good overview of the history, operation, advantages and limits of reverberation chambers. The second presentation, held after a coffee break, pointed out the problems of computer implementable methods for the assessment of the features (quality, propriety) of tests results, when EMC engineers are faced with graphs containing many peaks and troughs and differing amplitude levels. After each presentation, and during breaks, the attendees had the opportunity for discussion on these presentations. Finally, as recognition of Dr. Alistair Duffy’s merits in the field of EMC, the President of the Romanian EMC Association, Dr. Andrei Marines, offered him the Honorary Member’s Diploma with Professor Sorin Coatu, Romania EMC Chapter Chair. Special thanks go to Dr. Duffy for his interesting presentation and to the IEEE EMC Society for sponsoring the DL program.
